Our community is built on the belief that every child and every adult brings unique gifts and perspectives that make us stronger together. Trinity School’s commitment to welcoming students, families, and employees with diverse backgrounds means that we honor each individual’s worth and contributions and believe that different perspectives and abilities enrich our community and deepen our understanding of the world around us.
We are grounded in our history.
This culture of belonging has deep roots. In 1963, Trinity School took a stand and became the first racially integrated private independent school in Georgia, warmly welcoming children from all races, creeds, and cultures. That historic decision reflected more than courage; it reflected conviction that our mission to nurture character and compassion could only flourish in a community that embraces diversity and inclusion.
Today, inclusion is an ever-present part of Trinity’s daily life, program, and pedagogy. We value the power of dialogue, foster belonging, and embrace an attitude of continual growth and learning for all.
In age-appropriate ways, we help students
-
Develop a strong sense of self and belonging
-
Treat others with dignity, fairness, and respect
-
Cultivate sincere care, compassion, and curiosity for others
We guide our students to find commonalities, appreciate differences, and consider new perspectives. We take time to grow relationships and camaraderie within classrooms, across grade levels, and throughout the School.
As an elementary-only independent school, Trinity is uniquely positioned to build these foundational beliefs in children ages 3-12, the crucial years when character, empathy, and viewpoints truly take root.
Our shared mission makes us stronger.
Our community thrives because we share a mission: to empower children to achieve their unique potential as responsible, productive, and compassionate individuals. That common purpose unites faculty, staff, parents, and students in important and memorable ways, through teaching, learning, service, traditions, and joyful connection.
