Serving Others During the COVID-19 Crisis

Join Trinity Alumni in Creating 3D Masks

Friends and former Trinity classmates Peter Buckley '19, Austin Genova '19, Buckley Wiley '19 are combining their passions for helping others and for 3-D printing to create face shields for local medical personnel. Combined, they have created close to 600 masks, most of which are now in the hands of healthcare heroes all around Atlanta. We are so proud of our alums and their service to others, especially during this extraordinary time.

They hope you will join their efforts and have kindly offered the 3-D printing file and an instructional video on how to create the face shields, which can be found below.

Please note that the 3-D printing file can be found on this page instead of Google Drive as Buckley references in the video.

Trinity Faculty Make PPEs for Hospitals

Makerspace Specialist Paul Pileggi, Database Manager Karen Johnson, and Extended Programs Teacher Kevin Howard have been utilizing 3-D printing technology to print face masks for local healthcare personnel. Using a combination of their own equipment, materials and 3-D printers provided by Trinity, and additional printing filament donated by a Trinity parent, the trio have been able to print hundreds of much-needed personal protection equipment (PPE) items, including masks and ear savers, for local hospitals. We are proud of Paul, Karen, and Kevin for going the extra mile to fill a need during this extraordinary time!

Trinity School and FLIK Dining Serve the Food Insecure

Over the last four years, Trinity School has partnered with Second Helpings Atlanta (SHA), a nonprofit food rescue organization, and donated almost 3,000 meals to Mary Hall Freedom House in Sandy Springs. When we had to close the School’s doors in response to COVID-19, our FLIK Dining team contacted SHA and donated our unused milk to one of its partner agencies. The milk was delivered to Gateway Center, a homeless shelter in downtown Atlanta. A few days later, our team reached out to SHA again, offering to cook meals for those in need. Trinity School and Flik Dining are currently providing Mary Hall Freedom House with 150 meals a week, Veterans Empowerment Organization with 150 meals a week, and SafeHouse Outreach with 300 meals a week. We are grateful for our partnership with Second Helpings and to have the opportunity to provide local families with much-needed meals.

Buckhead Mask Project

We are proud that two of our Trinity families, the Eastons and the Roths, are helping lead efforts for the Buckhead Mask Project (founded by Monica and Walter James, MD, parents of Trinity graduates). The project’s goal is to provide as many 100 percent cotton masks to Piedmont Hospital as possible, and as of April 21, nearly 5,500 masks have been made and delivered!

If you want to learn how to make masks and support their efforts, please visit the web pages linked below. We hope you enjoy seeing Fifth Grader Ella Reagan and her sister, Pre-K student Towry, in the instructional video as much as we do.

Please contact Keri Roth if you have any questions about how to make the masks. Please contact Holli Easton if you would like her to provide you with some medical-grade fabric or if you would like her to pick up your completed masks and deliver them to Piedmont Hospital.
