Engineering and Design

Engineering and Design at Trinity School

From robotics to programming, rapid prototyping to computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), Trinity’s Engineering and Design Program introduces students at every grade level to engineering concepts and techniques. By encouraging students to draw from their unique perspectives while creatively and collaboratively solving open-ended challenges, we strive to make inspiration our students’ guide and STEAM-based learning their life-long passion.

Design Thinking.

Trinity teachers participate in the Atlanta K-12 Design Challenge, and facilitate Design Thinking throughout the Trinity community. At Trinity, we teach our students to solve problems in our immediate community and around the world through a human-centered approach.

Engaging Students.

The Class of 2015 led students in design thinking opportunities that incorporated math and science. They designed an outdoor learning space for Discovery Woods and Trinity Creek that created the perfect platform for engaging work for the students.

Finding Solutions.

No matter where engineering happens at Trinity, it follows the same basic design process: define a problem, develop solutions; and test and develop designs. Students must determine what the problem is, how they will solve it, and then find ways to improve it.
