About
Spotlight on Art supports financial aid to students, instructional programs for teachers and other educational needs that enrich the lives of the students.
The event is comprised of two major components: the Artists Market and the Gala. The Artists Market is a five-day event featuring over 7500 pieces of art, showcased and available for immediate sale. The Gala is the culmination of this five-day event and features a Live Auction of selected works of fine art from the region's leading artists as well as fabulous non-art opportunities. The Gala also features a sit-down dinner, a silent auction, and entertainment for over 600 people at an exciting new venue.
Each year Spotlight on Art shares a portion of its proceeds with a designated charity. We are pleased to announce that we will once again be donating a portion of our proceeds to The Joseph Sams School in Fayetteville, Georgia. The Joseph Sams School, Inc., is a private nonprofit school serving children ages two to fifteen who have mild to severe intellectual and/or physical disabilities or diagnosed developmental disabilities. The school provides intense educational training as well as speech and language therapy for its students.
The Live Art Auction and the Artists Market are important venues for participants and have launched the careers of a number of significant Southern artists. The Artists Market features exciting works for sale from established and emerging artists from all over the country. Participation in the Artists Market is by invitation only, and new artists are invited every year. This ensures that the selection of art is fresh each year, and of high caliber.
All events associated with the Artists Market will be held at Trinity School's campus located at 4301 Northside Parkway in the heart of Buckhead, just north of Mt. Paran Road. The Gala, live auction, and silent auction will take place on the evening of Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the Georgia Aquarium. Please visit the Directions page for more information on how to get to both locations.
